Science Club - Amazing Anatomy: Hearts & Lungs!

Mini medics get hearts beating, lungs pumping and muscles moving at our fun anatomy themed Science Club for National Heart month. Run experiments to investigate lung capacity and test your own hot air! From anatomy to autopsy, play games and work out how lungs and hearts work together to bring oxygen to our bodies. Dissect a real animal heart* or build a working model heart valve instead. Create an anatomically accurate moving paper hand to take home and give yourself a round of applause!

*please note this will be a lamb heart sourced from a local butcher

Suitable for ages 5-9 (accompanied by an adult)

Sessions:

10am - 11.30am

12.30pm - 2pm

3pm - 4.30pm

£15 per club ticket (includes Eventbrite booking fee. Admits one child and accompanying adult.

£5 additional adult/s ticket admittance to Science Club and outside areas / café. All attendees need a ticket, for under 3’s we recommend the Family day instead.

90 minute club session for one child and accompanying adult

Access to:

- Access to the woodland and outdoor areas from 10am–5pm (last entry 4.30pm)

- Parking (limited availability)

- Café 10am - 4pm

What is NOT included:

- Access to the Exploration Zone

Event Details

All Saturday Club sessions must be accompanied by an adult. These family workshops are designed for you and your child to learn from each other and work together while trying out new things. Led by our expert club leaders with bespoke activities designed to provide science-inspired fun challenges. There is a different theme each week so we and you are always learning something new!

Science Oxford Centre Visitor Café

Emira's Kitchen café at the Science Oxford Centre is open on Saturdays from 10am-4pm, serving hot and cold drinks, snacks and rolls. Families are welcome to bring picnics to eat at our lunch tables.

Important notice: Centre works

Due to the ongoing site improvement works, you may notice some changes to the area immediately outside the centre and access to the woodland and trails. There are temporary diversions in place directing parking (please use all available bays). There is also unrestricted free parking available on Quarry Road. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we complete these necessary improvements.
