Thespihonest Theatre Company is proud to present our fourth production, William Shakespeare's ROMEO & JULIET.
In an era when queer lives continue to face erasure, this work stands as both resistance and celebration.
In our rendition of the classic tale, Juliet is portrayed by a woman opposite a queer, non-binary Romeo, illuminating the emotional realities many young queer people face when balancing love, authenticity, and family expectations. About a third of Shakespeare’s text has been re-envisioned through movement and physical storytelling, accompanied by a live guitarist weaving queer anthems from across generations.
Visually, the production draws from the play’s astrological imagery—each character embodying a celestial force such as the Sun, Moon, or Mercury. Blending movement, music, and queerness, Romeo & Juliet becomes a living constellation.
