Roberto Cassani, Fraser A. Campbell and Graeme Stephen live at Perth Yoga Studio!
This will be a unique and wonderfully intimate event.
Roberto and Fraser's music gained international acclaim when their 2023 album "Poet.Shuts.Clock" was released by legendary New York label Sunnyside Record.
Their live performances however have been rare, based as they are at the opposite ends of the Atlantic Ocean.
The last time they performed live, they headed a bit of a superband: a quintet with Ross Ainslie on highland whistles, Doug Hough on drums and indeed, the magnificent Graeme Stephen on guitar.
Meanwhile, Graeme and Roberto have released a great duo record on another Stateside label: 577Records from Brooklyn, which is one of the brightest labels in creative music.
This winter, they re-unite for a mini tour, ahead of the release of a new album they managed to record in the summer, when they had one afternoon in the same place at the same time, at their favourite TPot Studio, near Perth.
Fraser A. Campbell is a saxophonist and composer with a wonderful and instantly recognisable tone, matched by unspeakable musicality and a constant search for beauty.
Graeme Stephen needs no introduction: simply the most wonderful of guitarists, he is a Scottish treasure, the rarest of original and compassionate musician, improviser and composer.
Roberto Cassani's double bass and joyful persona are building a truly international profile in the world of improvised music, with albums and performances in Europe, America and this year, even North Africa! (Roberto also happens to be a teacher at the yoga studio!)
Perth Yoga studio is a historic domed room where the majestic unpredictable sound will surely be the third member of the band...and you shall be the 4th!
This is a rare chance to witness a special performance: the trio celebrate friendship in the moment, with music never discussed beforehand and never repeated afterward.
Please note: access to the yoga studio is by way of carpeted stairs, easily managed on foot, but sadly not suitable for wheelchair access.
oh...there is no bar...but there may be a wee refreshment included.
