“There is rice at home” is a well known saying in African households to signify that we already have an abundance of what we need.
“Rice at Home” extends this conversation in this documentary directed by Louise Ndibwirende and produced by Martha Redfern which brings together elders from Rwanda, Bangladesh and India as they reflect on their experiences of heritage, culture and ancestry.
You will be moved by the raw and authentic conversations - and inspired to take the time to deeply connect with your roots and the richness of your community.
The film will be followed by a panel talk hosted by Kyla Armstrong with Maysa Bashraheel and Lauren Khirey to explore deeper the themes of the documentary and offering the audience moments of connection, celebration and joy.
Children and young people welcome.
