Resin Art Trinket Dishes craft workshop in Montgomery County, Md.

If you’re trying to give more handmade gifts this holiday season, we’ve got you covered. In this workshop, you’ll create three resin art trinket dishes that you can customize for each recipient. (Or give them to yourself, of course!) We’ll teach you all about epoxy resin and how to use it to create gorgeous, functional works of art.

You’ll receive instruction on how to prepare and color the resin, and will have the option to add embellishments of your choice, such as dried pressed flowers, seashells, glitter and beads. This would be a great workshop for a child (10+) and adult to do together — make dishes for everyone on your list! They're perfect for catching coins, office supplies, jewelry and all the other doodads that clutter our lives.

Each participant will make three dishes in a variety of shapes. Gift some and keep some for yourself! Try different techniques and add-ins on each dish. If you’re inspired to make more, you may purchase additional dishes at the workshop for $8 each.

• Introduction to creating resin art — no experience required!
• Three ceramic dishes and all materials
• Detailed instructions
• Finished projects to display in your home or give as gifts

Please note:

• Beginners are welcome. No prior resin art experience necessary.
• Since resin must cure, you’ll need to come back at least a couple days after the class to pick up the final project.
• Resin art can be messy — please dress appropriately.

Kids as young as 10 are welcome to attend, but any participant under 13 but must be accompanied by an adult. ALL participants must purchase a ticket.
