Reset & Rewild: A Shrewsbury Riverside Mindful Walk, Nature Journalling & Coffee/Tea

Start 2026 with a deep breath, a clear head, and a fresh dose of calm. Join Lowri and Janire for a wholesome, restorative half day retreat designed to help you reset, rewild, and realign before the year runs away with you.

We’ll begin with a peaceful riverside walk tracing the curves of the River Severn around Shrewsbury — one of the prettiest loops in Shropshire. Along the way we’ll pause for gentle mindfulness moments, nature journalling prompts, and time to simply be in the present. Think calm energy, moving meditation, and that soft “ahhh” feeling of being outdoors with good people.

This relaxed 12.5km route weaves through Shrewsbury’s rich history too, passing landmarks like Shrewsbury Library, The English Bridge, Shrewsbury Abbey, and glimpses of the Castle, Prison, and woodland stretches around Belvidere Coppice. It’s a gorgeous blend of nature, heritage, and reflective moments.

We’ll finish at Condor Coffee for coffee/tea — the perfect cosy ending — where we’ll wrap up with some gentle New Year intention-setting and mini vision-boarding to help you step into 2026 feeling grounded and inspired.

A Year of Monthly Mindful Walks

This event is the first in a brand-new 2026 series of gentle, mindful walks and journalling sessions.

Every month, we’ll gather for:

🌿 Nature-based mindfulness

🖊️ Seasonal and lunar-aligned journalling

🚶 Restful riverside, woodland, or countryside walks

🌙 Moments to pause, reflect, and reconnect

Each month will align with seasonal shifts and moon phases, helping you reconnect with nature’s rhythms and your own inner cycles. Slow, soothing, grounding — a little monthly reset to carry into the year.

Recommended Journal for the Series: The 13 Moon Journal

To deepen your journalling practice throughout these events, we’re recommending (and absolutely loving) the 13 Moon Journal — a beautifully designed, lunar-aligned journal that supports reflection, intention, and gentle growth.

What Makes It Special?

🌙 In-sync with the moon’s cycles

Starts on 20th December 2025, the last New Moon of the year, and follows all 13 lunar cycles of 2026.

🖤 A unique, non-traditional layout

Instead of Monday–Sunday pages, each lunar quarter (New, 1st, Full, 3rd) has a full writing page — giving you space to reflect deeply at each phase.

🌱 Supports self-awareness & inner growth

Guided prompts, reflection boxes, monthly check-ins, and intention-setting keep you connected to your inner world throughout the year.

🌞 Seasonal reflections

Quarterly pages inspired by the Equinoxes and Solstices help you align with the shifting seasons.

📈 Track your cycles

Use the tracking box on each page to follow energy levels, moods, menstrual cycles, or any synchronicities with the moon.

📜 Eco-conscious & beautifully made

Forest Certified Paper, stitched spine (so it opens flat!), 315+ pages of 140gsm paper, A5 hardback with orange rainbow foil.

🪐 A journal with soul

“When we let the Moon foster our lives, we learn the art of approach and retreat… a way of living sustainable for our bodies and souls.”

Where to Get One?

The 13 Moon Journal is now available to pre-order on the Ray of Sun Adventures website for £39

🌞 Who Will Be Your Guides?

Hi, I’m Janire, a fully qualified and insured Mountain Leader based in Shropshire. I create inclusive, welcoming adventures that connect people with nature and each other.

And joining me is Lowri, a passionate nature enthusiast and wellbeing guide who has spent the past 18 years working in ecology. Both nature and wellbeing weave closely together in Lowri's life and she loves nothing more than to share that with others. With 23 years of personal yoga practice and 5 years of teaching experience, she blends mindful movement with her love of wild spaces. Her mindfulness journey began a decade ago, and she completed meditation teacher training 4 years ago, deepening her ability to support others on their paths to presence and calm. Today, she creates opportunities for people to nurture their wellbeing, reconnect with themselves, and build a meaningful relationship with the nature around them.

🚻 Toilets

There are public toilets at the coffee shop and throughout the town. Wild wees may be required at other points. (we’ll make sure you’ve got privacy — no stress!).
