How Ukrainian traditions shape modern creative culture such as fashion, ceramics, cuisine, design, and support Ukraine’s cultural diplomacy.

As part of UoP One World Festival, the School of Area Studies, Sociology, History, Politics and Literature invites you to our guest lecture! 🌍

This lecture will explore how Ukrainian traditions shape contemporary mass creative culture, particularly in areas such as fashion, ceramics, cuisine, art, and design. We will examine the revival of traditions during revolutionary events and the products and designs created under their influence. Furthermore, we will trace how these elements currently contribute to Ukraine’s cultural diplomacy.

Discussion Points:

  • What is mass creative culture, and how do traditions manifest within it?
  • How do historical events influence the revival of traditions, and why do they remain significant in modern culture?
  • How are traditions reflected in contemporary art, design, fashion, and culinary practices?

We’d love for you to join us!

The lecture will be held in a hybrid format, so you can take part in whichever way suits you best - in person in Milldam LE0.06 or online via Zoom. Please select your preferred format when choosing your tickets.

If you prefer to join online, simply register for the event and we’ll send the Zoom link straight to your inbox.
