Puerto Rican Bomba Percussion Classes: DC Metro

In this class series, participants will explore traditional bomba rhythms while learning the role of the drums, maraca, cuá, and voice within the batey.

✨ New this year:
This percussion series will culminate in a student showcase, shared with our youth and dance students, offering an opportunity to experience bomba as a collective practice of rhythm, movement, and community.

Each class builds upon the previous one as we learn new rhythms and strengthen listening, communication, and ensemble skills.

Who Can Join

• All levels welcome — no experience required
• All ages welcome

🎟️ Pricing for Full Series (5 classes + showcase participation):

• $110 10 y/o and older
• $60 children 6 to 9 y/o

Instruments

• Bomba drums will be available, with limited quantities
• If tickets are sold out and you have your own barril, djembe, conga, or timba, please email us to request additional space
