Printmaking Talk/Demonstration
"An etching is essentially a drawing on a metal plate that is then printed on paper", says artist and printmaker Laura Gressani. In this whistle stop tour of the process, she explains how this is done: from the various ways of making marks on the copper plate, to printing the plate on paper, and most intriguingly, why artists go to all that trouble! This event takes place within a small exhibition of Laura's prints inspired by mountains, so plenty of opportunities to see some finished etchings up close.
