Using stencils and paint on fabric, you’ll explore simple techniques for creating expressive layered portraits, which you’ll mount in an embroidery hoop,perfect for display or further development at home.
This hands-on session coincides with the closing of Surgeons’ Hall Museum’s exhibition Women in Surgery, which has showcased the resilience and achievements of female surgeons across generations. As the exhibition concludes, the Eleven Surgeons portrait, celebrating the Hunter Doig Award, will take up permanent display in the College entrance, ensuring the stories and contributions of women in surgery continue to inspire future generations.
