Join Canon Explorer of Light Bob Davis for an in-depth class designed to elevate your wildlife photography and give you the tools, strategies, and confidence to photograph one of nature’s most powerful subjects: eagles.
Drawing from more than 40 years behind the camera and countless wildlife adventures around the world, Bob will walk you through his complete approach, from research and preparation to field technique and creative decision-making. You’ll learn how to read behavior, anticipate action, and position yourself for the most compelling moments. Bob will also share the gear he relies on, how he dials in exposure and autofocus for fast-moving birds, and the small adjustments that make a big difference when photographing in challenging environments.
Whether you’re a seasoned wildlife photographer or just beginning your journey, this class will give you practical insights, proven techniques, and inspiring stories from the field. You’ll walk away better prepared, more confident, and ready to capture unforgettable images of these majestic birds.
If you’re passionate about wildlife and want to take your bird photography to the next level, this class is for you.
All attendees will be entered for a chance to win a print of the image below, captured by Bob Davis!
I’ve been a professional photographer for more than 40 years, but my love for storytelling began long before that. It all started back in high school, where I served as editor of the school newspaper and discovered the power of a single photograph. That early spark carried me to Columbia College Chicago, where I was honored to be named College Photographer of the Year. That recognition opened the door to my first full-time position at the Daily Southtown and eventually a 14-year career at the Chicago Sun-Times.
Photography has always been more than a profession for me. It’s been my passport to the world and my front-row seat to history. I’ve had the privilege of covering presidential elections, documenting Michael Jordan’s legendary Chicago Bulls dynasty, and capturing everything from human interest stories and corporate features to celebrity portraits and global editorial assignments for Time, Newsweek, and Sports Illustrated. In a way, I’ve spent my career moving from one form of wildlife to another.
Today, I’m grateful to bring that same passion to documenting life’s most meaningful celebrations. I’ve had the honor of photographing the weddings of Eva Longoria and Tony Parker, Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds, Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault, La La Vazquez and Carmelo Anthony, The Bachelorette’s Ashley Herbert and J.P. Rosenbaum, along with unforgettable events for Oprah Winfrey.
Alongside my wife Dawn, I’m also proud to lead photography workshops around the world. Together we’ve guided photographers through extraordinary experiences across Africa, Japan, Europe, and throughout the United States. Most recently, we led an unforgettable adventure to Alaska, photographing grizzly bears in their natural habitat. Helping photographers learn, grow, and find their creative voice in some of the world’s most inspiring places has become one of the most rewarding chapters of our journey.
As partners in Bob & Dawn Davis Photography & Design, we feel blessed to capture high-profile weddings and events across the globe while continuing to explore the wild places that inspire us. Photography isn’t just what I do, it’s who I am. It fills me with joy, purpose, and gratitude every single day.
Share the Light, Bob
