Event Details

The event takes place on the third Monday of every month at the DMK Black Box Theater located at 1980 Morris Avenue in Union, New Jersey. Doors and sign-ups begin at 6:30 PM, with performances running from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Admission is 5 dollars for everyone.

How It Works

1. Sign Up: A friendly DMK Theater staff member will be holding a clipboard and collecting names at 6:30PM. Please note that performers may not be called in the order listed, as our host will curate the evening for everyone. If you have a time constraint, kindly inform either the theater staff or the host, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
2. Performances: All types of performers are welcome! All performances should be between 3-5 minutes TOPS.

• Singers/Musicicans: Please bring sheet music or a chord chart in the right key! The band is extremely versatile and can nearly play ANYTHING, but…help them out if you can by bringing something that will help them help YOU SHINE!
• Actors/Poets/Spoken-Word Artists: please let us know if you need to a mic or not when you arrive.
• Dancers: if you need something played, please bring your music on a thumb drive and arrive at 6:30pm to meet with our tech staff.

The Golden Rule: Have FUN and SUPPORT YOUR FELLOW ARTISTS! The evening should be a whole VIBE, so pick material that will keep the night moving and that will let us know who YOU! No booing, no shooing-just an atmosphere that invites us to share the very best of us with each other!
