Paint the Masters - Monet

Colour theory and mark making.

This session will guide you through how to paint ‘Impression Sunrise’, a depiction of the port at Le Havre, by Claude Monet.

Led by artist, Stephen Earl Rogers, you will be given a window into Monet’s beautiful world, learning how to mix the colours present in the work, and gaining a clear understanding of how they operate and relate to one another. Alongside this you will be taught the mark making and brush work techniques that Monet employed to create the mesmerising effects of light and atmosphere in the painting.

This session will develop your understanding of colour theory and painting approaches,

through practice. By the end of the session, you will leave with a good understanding of the artist’s techniques and will have created a convincing scene in the style of Monet, for you to take away and enjoy.
