A group exhibition exploring The illusions presented in nature and the ones we create ourselves.

Join us for the group Exhbition Optical Blues: The stories we tell ourselves and Artist Talk with Kirk H, Nic Chung, Isaiah Ward, Myla Sexton, Harlem West, and Loran Ditaway.

This exhibition was inspired by the Bowerbird: Well known for being one of nature's most unqiue illusionist. After a bit of research it was inspired by the commonalities between The Male Bowerbird's and the human Male's mating methods and the reckoning with the failed promises of the patriarchy. These male oriented cycles perpetuate illusions created by oppressive systems and ourselves as we both instinctively fight to survive through truths we are not ready to address, futures were too afraid to venture into, and nests built to make us seem large enough that the grief of our true reality cant hurt us. Our Artist talk moderated by Loran Ditaway will start promptly at 7pm. See you there!
