Open Homes Event 2 - Award Winning Retrofit

Your Home Better invites you to join a guided tour around an award winning zero carbon retrofit in Old Trafford. If you missed out last time, make sure to get your tickets.

This Old Trafford terrace house has been retrofitted to a level that means the home isoperationally net zero - the home produces the same amount of energy from the roof that it needs for a years supply. It out performs the current standard for new build properties.

This project was awarded the North West Construction Awards 2025 Retrofit Award, at which the judges described it as a "fantastic example of how we can bring our regional housing stock into the 21st century and ensure high quality life is not just for the affluent. It demonstrates how exisiting housing stock can be retrofitted without losing character".

The guided tours of the home start on the hour and last around 45 minutes, with time for questions at the end.

This home shows you how insulation and renewables can work in your home, speak directly to the homeowners about the process, their comfort levels and how their energy bills have been affected. This home features a heat pump, solar battery and PV as well as lots of different insulation measures.
