EVENT DETAILS (Non-Sex Based):

We are having a 2-part evening of indulgence and learning. Come for the workshop and stay for the Jam to practice what you learned and meet other spicy members of the BIPOC community or just come to the Jam!

In this Intro to Rope, attendees will learn the foundations through a lens of trust, presence, and intentional connection. Together, we’ll explore how tension, structure, and mindful pacing can transform rope from a technical skill into a deeply communicative and embodied art form. By the end, participants will walk away with the tools to create safe, intentional, and beautifully connected rope experiences rooted in care, consent, and awareness.

Conscious BD$M explores the intentional connection of vulnerability, trust and awareness to create a beautiful dance of flow and movement between the giver and receiver to create intended sensations, feelings and reactions.

In addition to theory and discussion, there will be practical workshop based segments to learn techniques and skills to enhance your experience. This workshop offers an introduction to BD$M/Klnk that is great for singles, couples, or more, of course keeping safety a priority.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Workshop: This is an in-person workshop in a beautiful and private studio space in Manhattan. The workshop will include 2 hours of discussion & instruction where you will be able to receive and explore new techniques and tips. If you desire, you may receive hands-on practice and demonstration.

7:00-9:15 PM Open Flow Rope Workshop

9:30-11:30 PM Jam Party

Intended Outcomes: You will gain new ways to connect and bond with yourself and others that feel intimate, exciting and invigorating. You will be able to connect and explore your own relationship to this practice and all the yummy sensations possible.

Jam: This is a practice participation based gathering where we focus on practicing what you learned in the workshop or know within the context of the workshop. This time is meant for all to be involved on some level within comfort and personal boundaries to be respected. This is not a hookup style event and the focus is on practice (Non-Sex Based). Please note that light support for rope technique will be offered throughout the jam in order to maintain proper facilitation of the experience. If further rope guidance is needed, please attend the workshop prior for more guided support!

WHAT TO WEAR/BRING

🖤Comfortable attire and ropes (Ropes will also be provided at the space)

WHO CAN ATTEND

Obsidian Playground is an intentional, BIPOC-centered space for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color of all genders and orientations. If you do not identify as BIPOC, you may attend only if you are accompanying a BIPOC partner. We reserve the right to remove anyone who disrupts the comfort or safety of the space. You must be 18+ to attend.
