Join the Nordic Craft Weekend: Fire, Steel & Wood

Step out of the modern world and into the rhythms of the North.

Join us for a two-day immersive Nordic craft weekend where ancient skills come back to life through fire, steel, wood, and handwork. This is a slow, grounded experience rooted in traditional Viking-era crafts—designed for those who want to learn by doing, create something meaningful, and spend time outdoors.

Day One – Forge & Blade

Our weekend begins at the charcoal-powered forge, where fire and muscle do the work the old way. Under guidance, you’ll forge your own Viking-style neck knife from raw steel, shaping, hardening, and finishing a blade you’ll take home and use for years to come.

Once the blade is complete, you’ll craft a custom leather sheath, learning traditional leatherworking techniques to create a functional and durable home for your knife. Expect heat, sparks, the smell of charcoal, and the satisfaction that comes from making something real with your hands.

Please bring a packed lunch for the midday break on day one. All other meals are provided.

Day Two – Shrink Pot Making

On the second day, we turn to woodcraft and one of the oldest container forms known to Northern Europe: the shrink pot. Used throughout the Viking era as small food and storage containers, shrink pots are made by hollowing green wood and fitting it with a carved base that tightens as the wood dries.

You’ll make your own shrink pot from start to finish, learning techniques that rely on wood knowledge rather than modern tools—resulting in a beautiful, practical object that carries a deep historical lineage.

Camping & Food

You’re welcome to camp on site throughout the weekend. We have space for small tents and hammocks, allowing you to fully settle into the experience and enjoy the evenings around camp.

All meals are provided except for the first day’s packed lunch, so once you arrive, you can focus entirely on crafting, learning, and slowing down.
