New Moon Ecstatic Dance: The Opening 2026 Gathering

Under the darkness of the new moon, we gather to release, reimagine, and embody our vision for the year ahead. This ecstatic dance is a space to listen inward, move what’s ready to shift, and let intention arise through rhythm, breath, and body. Join us as we dance the year open for new beginnings and to move with our vision for 2026.

The indoor dance floor holds a strong container, where bodies synchronise and the room is electric with life! The medicine of dance awaits us as it aids our resilience through the colder and dark months ahead. If you would like to give your body the gift of authetic movement to a musical journey of exploration and play then join us!

What is Ecstatic Dance?

Ecstatic Dance is a free form movement practice which takes dancers through an embodied journey of inner discovery, joy and freedom. This is a self-lead and expansive space with no rules, just a few guidelines:

🌀We dance barefoot, grouning into the earth.

🌀 We dance without words, to let the body speak.

🌀 We dance without substance, no alcohol/drugs permitted. We dance on the high of our own pure energy supply.

🌀 We dance without technology, being in the present moment!

🎵Our Dj will take us on a journey through a beautifully crafted, worldly & eclectic DJ set. Weaving waves of genres and energies to get our body moving and soul smiling with our immersive silent disco headsets. Ending with softness, stillness and slow integration back into our closing circle.

🎧Dj Venetia will be gracing the decks with a megical set to light the fire within admist these darker and colder nights. To let our bodies express, feel and be free. The dance floor is a transformative space where music meets medicine and dance meets ritual. Expect a set to fly you high into the sky while bringing you back down to the earth for a grounidng winter release!

🔊DJ Venetia is one of Wales’ most exciting and passionate emerging female DJs, consistently igniting the dance floor with her spicy, playful, and wonderfully unpredictable journeys. Her sets invite dancers to explore their edges, opening space for curiosity, liberation, and the mystery of dance — and life itself.

Trained with the renowned Dance The Medicine school, Venetia has become an inspiration in crafting exquisite Ecstatic Dance experiences. While her music is vibrant and fun, she also weaves in soul-stirring, tender layers of the human experience, using sound to burst us open, bring us home to the body, and ground us back into the earth. Her music drifts between joy and deep presence, guiding us into a sweet surrender🔊

🌀Facilitator & Founder of ED Wales, Jazzy Bee, will guide us through an embodiment warm-up designed to get us out of our heads and fully into our bodies. She will hold space for dancers to vision their 2026 through movement, allowing everyone to connect, express, and embody their intentions for the year ahead.

🖌️During the dance, we will collectively create a piece of art. When dancers feel called, they can add their feelings, ideas, and hopes to the blank canvas placed at the back of the room. Who knows what we can co-create together!

✨If you have never been to an ecstatic dance before or it may be your first time dancing sober and you feel nervous, please be assured the ED Wales team create a friendly and welcoming space. We are all on the journey together, and the dance portal is co -created by eveyones unquiness. It's a truly special experience when random humans gather together and find joy in letting our bodies be free to music with no judgement and compassion for eachother.

Flow of the evening:

5pm ~Opening Circle & Warm Up

5.15pm~ Ecstatic Dance

6.45pm~ Community heart warming soup (vegan & gluten free)

Low income tickets available - please contact us for more info :)

We will never turn anyone away from lack of funds.

Parking is available outside the Ostreme centre, but if that's full there is residential and on street parking around the centre in Mumbles.

We hold a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental container for community joy and wellbeing.
