WHAT?

This acrylic painting course guides participants through painting a close-up flower, a landscape, and an animal portrait, introducing key concepts such as micro perspective, composition, contrast, textures, and layering. Using picture references, participants will develop a strong understanding of the acrylic medium, sharpen observation skills, and learn to translate and interpret images into paintings.


Learning Outcome

· Able to fully understand the medium Acrylic using a picture reference to hone observation

· Using different types of brushes and tools to create types of textures.

· Understand the importance of textures and strokes.

· Able to translate and interpretate a picture into painting.

· Understanding the different layers in a painting

· Most important is the gaining the confidence in creating a art piece


Session 1 & 2: Painting of a close-up Flower

· Introduction to micro perspective

· Learn about contrast: Shadow and Highlights

Session 3 & 4: Painting of a Scenery

· Introduction to Compositions

· Learn about observations and implement different techniques.

Session 5 & 6: Painting of a Dog

· Introduction to an animal face structure and contrast

· Learn about how to paint furs using simple strokes

Trainer Bio:

Steve Liu is trained as an Interior Designer, but the call to pursue his passion in Arts has never left him.

Following his passion to teach, he started his studio to guide adults after 7 years of arts teaching to children. From the experience, he believes that there is a place for arts in everyone, and it is something that he would encourage for people to discover.

HOW? Do I begin the process of using my SkillsFuture Credit (SFC) to pay for course fees:


Step 1 (on Skillsfuture Website): Check your SkillsFuture credit balance.

Log into your SkillsFuture Portal to confirm you have sufficient SkillsFuture Credit balance (Take note: $4K SkillsFuture Career Transition Credits CANNOT be used for Brahm Centre courses).

Step 2 (on Eventbrite Website): Securing your ticket.

On Eventbrite, search for the course you are interested in.

Step 3 (on Eventbrite Website): Select correct ticket type & complete registration.

Select the intended Ticket Type (either SkillsFuture or SkillsFuture + Material) and complete your registration. Upon successful registration, you will receive a confirmation e-mail containing information about the course.

Save/Screenshot the confirmation. (you will use this in the following steps)


Step 4 (on Skillsfuture Website): Submit your SkillsFuture claim.

Go back to the SkillsFuture Portal to submit a claim under 'E-Services'.

Please submit your SkillsFuture credit claim 60 days BEFORE the course commencement, for it to be valid. Deadline to submit SFC Claim is one week prior to course commencement.


Step 5 (on Skillsfuture Website):

If your SFC submission was completed successfully, the status of your submission would reflect as "PENDING".

Your registration is confirmed after your SkillsFuture claim status reflect as "APPROVED".

*Should you choose to cancel your SFC claim before the start date, Brahm Centre reserves the right to impose a penalty fee for course withdrawal.


Notes:

  • There are NO make-ups if you miss any of the art sessions.
  • Missing a session does not disqualify you from taking part in the course - the trainer is not obligated to recap what was missed.
  • Brahm Centre reserves the right to replan the course should the trainer be unable to conduct the class due to unforeseen circumstances.

Do note that photographs and videos may be taken during the course for publicity purposes.
