Neuro Diverse Art Club
Now in its third month, we have our monthly creative club, specifically for neuro diverse adults. Each month we will take on a different project, in a friendly and welcoming environment.
In this session we’ll make abstract paintings based on the work of the American artist, Frank Stella. We’ll create pattern, explore mark-making and colour, and incorporate recycled materials to make a 3D painting that jumps off the wall! You’ll have the chance to try out lots of different materials and experiment in putting them together in interesting and unusual ways. We’ll juxtapose areas of neat and careful line work with wild mark-making to create a painting that is visually exciting and interesting.

Things to note
Mike Cassidy
I studied at Chelsea Art College, graduating in 2007 with a first class degree in Fine Art (Painting). I’ve been making and teaching art ever since. My teaching has brought me into contact with lots of different processes and materials, which have often diffused into my art practice - most notably ceramics, which I’ve been practicing now for over 10 years. I’m interested in how memory, pathos and narrative can be contained in artworks. I think of the process of making an artwork as a story that should always be woven into the things that I make.
Access: If you have additional access needs (e.g. large print, BSL interpreter, level access) Please let us know by emailing or sending us an SMS text/WhatsApp message on 07957 602790
These sessions are in our upstairs workshop space. There is currently no level access. It’s a single flight of 14 steps then you go around the corner and there are two small steps. Once you’re upstairs there’s a loo. You shouldn’t need to come downstairs for anything until the end of the event.
If you can’t manage the stairs but really want to attend, please let us know by emailing (using the contact organiser button/link) or sending us an SMS text/WhatsApp message on 07957 602790 and will try our best to accommodate.
