Join us on Barnes Common for an engaging and interactive morning connecting with nature! Suitable for all ages.

At Barnes Common we provide wild Lifelong Learning experiences for all ages.

This nature art workshop will introduce some basic principles of working with natural materials to create ephemeral artworks. The activity will be led by Paddy, our Lifelong Learning Manager - not an artist, but someone who takes inspiration from nature every day! The workshop will be inspired by the principles and artworks of James Brunt.

Natural art is very accessible and families are welcome at this activity - under 16s must be accompanied. Participants will have the chance to create their own artworks and are welcome to work individually or collaboratively. Parents/carers are responsible for ensuring young children are sufficiently supervised.

We will meet at Vine Road Recreation Ground and will head onto Barnes Common for a short stroll, observing and interacting with the things we see, hear and feel.

Paths are likely to be muddy. Creating natural art usually involves bending, crouching, kneeling and sitting, meaning clothes will get dirty and possibly wet. Come dressed appropriately in order to get the full experience! Bring drinks and snacks if you'd like, but note that the only handwashing facilities are at the start point.
