Conducted by Rimma Sushanskaya, the National Symphony Orchestra presents an evening of soaring romanticism, featuring three of the most beloved works in the orchestral repertoire.
The concert opens with Bedřich Smetana’s vivid tone poem Vltava (The Moldau), tracing the river’s journey from its source to its dramatic climax in Prague. Next, the lyrical Violin Concerto No. 1 by Max Bruch is performed by acclaimed young violinist Coco Tomita, celebrated for her expressive and dynamic playing. The evening concludes with Sergei Rachmaninoff’s glorious Symphony No. 2, a sweeping and immersive work full of rich melodies, dramatic contrasts, and profound emotional depth.
