The St. Andrew the Apostle Concert Series proudly presents an extraordinary afternoon of organ music with Dr. Peter Latona, Director of Music for the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. in a free concert on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 4:00 PM in Clifton, Virginia.
Widely regarded as one of America’s foremost liturgical musicians, Dr. Latona brings to Clifton an inspiring program that celebrates the full expressive power of the pipe organ. As National Shrine Organist, award-winning performer, and acclaimed composer, Dr. Latona is known for concerts of brilliance, depth, and spiritual resonance. He has performed throughout the United States, Europe, and the Holy Land, released numerous recordings, and is especially admired for his artistry as an improviser.
Toutes les couleurs! All the Colors!
Dr. Latona’s program is designed to showcase the full palette of sound and color of St. Andrew’s magnificent pipe organ, the Organ of the Holy Archangels. Built by the Peragallo Organ Company in the French Romantic style, the instrument features three manuals, 51 ranks, and 2,891 pipes, making it one of the region’s most impressive organs.
The repertoire will include works by Gerre Hancock, McNeil Robinson, and Jean Langlais—alongside music from multiple eras chosen for its rich use of registration and timbre. The program will also feature improvisations inspired by the church’s stained-glass windows and quotations from Sacred Scripture, highlighting the instrument’s dramatic range and expressive beauty.
Following the concert, all are invited to a complimentary post-concert reception, offering the chance to meet Dr. Latona and enjoy fellowship with fellow music lovers.
