
NOFA invites families of all ages to join them for a celebration of Orchestras for All’s 15th birthday in collaboration with the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Expect a wide range of musical styles including a famous Dvořák work, a traditional Ghanian playground tune, energetic Latin American music, a world premier from a young composer, and an exciting new 15th birthday celebration piece. With a selection of participatory workshops to get involved in and plenty of opportunities to sing, dance and clap along, it’s guaranteed to be a fun-filled musical experience for all ages.
Please note all children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Arrival from 13:00
13:00 – 14:00: Teas, coffees and cakes in RBC’s café (not included in ticket price) and a selection of pop-up performances and drop-in workshops including singing, body percussion and puppet-making.
14:00 – 15:00: NOFA’s 15th Birthday Celebration Concert
Repertoire will include:
1. A Keelie Makolay – traditional Ghanian playground song
2. Spring Morning – Christian Dews (new composition for NOFA written by NOFA alum)
3. Symphony 9, 4th movement – Antonín Dvořák
4. Ritmos Ciganos – Carlos Garcia
5. New 15th Birthday Commission – Emily Lim
