Come to Allen's Community Garden and be inspired by nature to make beautiful embroidery. Part of our Nature is Queer! workshops.

To mark Transgender Awareness Week , we're hosting workshops exploring queerness in nature through poetry, movement, and craft, connecting identity and ecology.

Thanks to the support of Hackney Council's Pride 365 funding, the costs of the workshop including materials have been fully covered! If you book a ticket and can no longer make it please let us know :)

Allens Community Garden

Allens Community Garden is a community garden in Stoke Newington that provides affordable and accessible ways for people to engage with the land. We value food and land justice, diverse communities and ecologies and care about being connected to the area around us.

Directions

Allens Community Garden is a community garden inside Allen's Gardens park in Stoke Newington. The postcode is N16 5BD. The entrance to the park is on Bethune road, near Manor road, and the garden is on the right when you enter the park through a wooden door, which will be clearly marked. Do make sure you don't go to the Allens Gardens in Shoreditch

Accessibility

Allens Community Garden has no steps but is uneven and can be slippery in wet weather. The toilet is accessible by a ramp that has unfortunately broken, so includes a slope upwards and downwards. The main paths are wheelchair accessible but the spaces between beds can be too narrow at points for a wheelchair to pass.

We have some accessible tools and knee pads, but not all the tools we'd like. We can provide waterproofs and warmer clothes if needed. The site has running water and lots of seating. There is an unfenced pond, so small children need supervision. We actively seek to accommodate sensory needs.
