Muslim theatre is alive, and it's coming to Kismet Cafe!
Actor-Poet Junayd of Islam has brought great literature to the stage in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Cambridge Student Theatre and Masajid across the country. He now delivers two of his original one-man shows.
Buaidh Dabhaidh is an original fantasy story beginning with a treacherous plot and culminating in a confrontation to define an age. A performance reaching the heights of legends and the intimacy of poetry.
The Kismet of Leopold Weiss takes you into 1920s Europe to follow the expolits of the adveturous and ambitious young Leopold as he searches for meaning in post-war Europe, culminating in a mission to become a real reporter. The Kismet of Leopold Weiss is a stand-alone performance inspired by the autobiography "The Road to Mecca"; Junayd's full adaptation of the book is showing at Hoxton Hall this January.
