Music at Play: Sound Canvas

Open to children aged 5 and under. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Sound Canvas is a playful new sound experience for young children, created by artist Sophie Cooper. Building on the compositional ideas of American composer Raymond Scott, Sound Canvas is a dreamlike playground filled with surround sound where children and their families can take part in creative activities together.

The music has been designed especially for this event in collaboration with Todmorden-based musician Pete Turner and his amazing collection of vintage synths, which have been sampled and blended with field recordings. The result is a warm, immersive sound world, created for relaxation and play.
