This workshop focuses on interaction—the connection between the photographer or director and the model or actor—across commercial, editorial, portrait, and other projects.
Many visual creators come from backgrounds where communication with subjects isn’t formally taught. For some, this comes naturally; for others, it’s the missing link between a strong visual idea and the ability to bring it to life through another person.
If you want to improve how you collaborate with talent, build genuine connections, and create a relaxed yet dynamic working atmosphere, this workshop is for you.
In commercial and fashion environments, time is limited, the set is crowded, and the model often arrives last. Building a meaningful connection in such conditions is a challenge — yet it’s in that understanding between photographer (or director) and subject where the true magic happens.
Workshop teachers will explain how it all works from different perspectives: morgaine is a choreographer, director, and movement director and Turkina is a photographer/director. We will focus on real-world work experience and a practical, engaging, practice-based approach.
You can apply the information to your practice, making it your own by adapting it to your needs and artistic techniques.
Hosts of the event, morgaine and Turkina, collaborated on several moving-image projects and have experience in film, fashion, commercial, and artistic contexts.
