About The Book
Usually I write a spiel about our chosen book, but it's Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë so we've all heard about it (maybe too many times??). With Emerald Fennell's much debated take on Wuthering Heights on the horizon, it's probably the right time to take a trip to the stormy moors of the original and have a little chat about it.
This book club we will explore why the novel still keeps us coming back for more, why we keep retelling it over and over, and whether a classic can ever truly belong to one generation. Should we stop retelling it? How does a modern lens draw more from the story? What does it mean for an adaption to 'get it wrong'?
Either way there's messy characters, big emotions and even bigger literary arguments ;) And, who knows you might even make a pal or two to go and see it at the cinema with the month after :)
