A Live Interactive Workshop by Adiwahab Abdisalam — Author of Can I Ask You a Question? And Quiznight for social fun

🌿 Event Overview

This workshop was created for anyone who’s ever tried to stay strong while quietly falling apart inside.
For the ones who love deeply, give endlessly, and forget that peace also needs protecting.

In this chapter of the tour, I want to talk about something we don’t speak about enough — mental health and emotional wellbeing within relationships.
Because the truth is, how we think, heal, and communicate shapes the love we build.

Together, we’ll go through relationship data, psychological research, and Islamic principles that reveal what makes partnerships last — and what quietly breaks them down.
We’ll explore how to prepare for marriage with self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and faith at the core — and how to connect with your partner in a way that’s both spiritually grounded and psychologically informed.

This session is inspired by Chapter 12 of my book Can I Ask You a Question?“Mental Health & Wellbeing: Building a Supportive and Resilient Partnership.”

Every attendee will receive a Mental Health & Questions Pack — a reflective workbook designed to help you process your emotions, identify mental health habits, and ask the right questions about emotional wellbeing in yourself and your relationships.
You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase the full book at the event.

This isn’t a lecture — it’s a shared space for reflection, healing, and growth.
Come as you are.
Leave with clarity, tools, and a renewed sense of peace.

🎉 The After-Talk Quiz Night:
To wrap up the evening, we’ll end with a fun, community-style quiz night. Expect team challenges, laughter, and questions that bring everyone together — from culture and faith to light-hearted relationship trivia. It’s the perfect way to end a deep, meaningful evening on a joyful note.

💬 What You’ll Experience

This isn’t a lecture — it’s a hands-on, heart-centered experience.
Throughout the workshop, we’ll combine Islamic insight, relationship psychology, and real-world reflection to understand how our emotional and spiritual wellbeing impacts the love we give and receive.

You’ll take part in guided exercises, deep discussions, and personal reflection moments designed to help you connect with yourself and others on a deeper level.

Here’s what to expect:

🌿 Guided Reflection:
Start with a self check-in to explore how you’ve been feeling and how your emotions show up in your relationships.

🧠 The Research Behind Love:
We’ll break down key psychological and relationship studies that explain how our mental health, attachment styles, and communication patterns shape the way we love.

💞 Faith & Feelings:
Learn how Islam views emotional wellbeing through the lens of nafs, qalb, and sabr — and how the Prophet ﷺ modeled empathy, compassion, and self-care.

🗣️ Interactive Exercises:
Pair and group activities where you’ll practice emotional communication, empathy, and reflective listening — tools you can use to build safety and connection in your relationships.

📘 Your Takeaway Pack:
Each attendee will receive a Mental Health & Questions Pack inspired by Chapter 12 of Can I Ask You a Question?
It includes journaling prompts, reflection tools, and the most essential questions to ask about mental health before and during marriage.

Community & Conversation:
Meet like-minded people who care about love, growth, and faith as much as you do. Share stories, ask questions, and take part in a space where vulnerability feels safe.

Who This Is For

This workshop is for anyone who believes love deserves depth, healing, and intention.

Whether you’re getting to know someone, engaged, or already married, this space will help you slow down and truly understand what emotional wellbeing looks like — for you and for the person you love.

It’s for:
💫 Those preparing for marriage who want to build a strong emotional and spiritual foundation.
💫 Married couples who want to reconnect and strengthen their communication and mental health together.
💫 Anyone who wants to learn how to support their partner — without losing themselves in the process.
💫 Individuals who want to understand how their mental health, attachment style, and upbringing shape their relationships.

You don’t need to come as an expert — just come as someone who cares about growth, love, and faith.
