A wander at Stoke Park woods discovering the nature and history of the park, then a woodland craft around the campfire

Take a break in nature and discover Stoke Park with Steve England, learning about the plants, trees and wildlife that appears at this time of year, a general chat about the history, monuments and features of the landscape, and then relax around the campfire with a gentle craft activity of whittling mushrooms or making a thumbstick to take away.

This is an afternoon event for men to get out in nature with others, connect, relax and feel welcome in their local parkland. We will have a campfire, feel free to bring campfire snacks and drinks for a post walk social around the fire!

Local conservationist, Steve England will be leading this wonderful walk, finding wildlife and as we go and sharing his fantastic Stoke Park knowledge with you all.

The Stoke Park Project - what is it and why is my place funded?

This is your opportunity to come and be part of a community conversation about Stoke Park. Bristol City Council wants to hear from you about which of the Park’s heritage and access features needs improving first.

By taking part in a fully funded walk with Steve England, you will learn all about the heritage, history and nature of the park, and afterwards you will be asked to send some feedback in a 3 minute survey, based on what you’ve seen and learned.

After the walk you will also have the chance to chat to Maria from Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust about your feelings and opinions. Which heritage aspects do you want to see restored first and foremost? Where could Stoke Park be easier to access for all?

The feedback received will inform how Bristol City Council manage the estate – so this really is your chance to influence the future of Stoke Park.

We request for any one individual to only book ONE funded space if possible throughout the programme please.
