The race for Governor of California is only getting more and more exciting! This next year will be filled with many more surprises to come, so stay up-to-date by attending Manny's series of town halls with each candidate, moderated by Politico Reporter Dustin Gardiner.

First up is California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond.

Tony Thurmond was sworn in as the twenty-eighth California State Superintendent of Public Instruction on January 7, 2019.

Superintendent Thurmond is an educator, social worker, and public school parent who has served Californians for more than 15 years in elected office. Previously, he served on the Richmond City Council, the West Contra Costa Unified School Board, and in the California State Assembly representing District 15.

Mr. Thurmond is now running for Governor of the State of California. Tony knows that working families across California are facing so many challenges that require our entire state government, working together, to solve.

Growing up in poverty as a Black and Latino kid without his parents, Tony lived the struggles that so many Californians face every day - that's why he dedicated his career to fighting for a brighter future for California's children.
