Would you like to meet new people, play silly games together and laugh?
Why not come along and try Improvised Comedy and Theatre, aka Improv?
Ages 18-80. No experience required. Beginner's encouraged!
An Improv workshop mainly consists of playing with other adults by taking part in group games, making up stories, and/or playing silly characters.
Improv is a type of theatre and comedy but no one is expected to perform or be funny in this workshop.
Meet
Meet lots of other silly people and get to know them.
Play
The core of improv is about spontaneity, openness, imagination, and silliness, just like playtime was as a child.
Laugh
As the core of Improv is to make things up it is inherently funny. You don't even need to try to be funny. In fact it's best if you don't! You just will be funny.
The workshop
We'll explore all the basics of improv, how to play, how to fail, and how to be spontaneous through short games, longer scenework, partner work and more.
Your host
My name is Paul and I've been improvising since 2019. I've trained with Hoopla Impro and The Maydays in London, Awkward Actor's in Oxford and I've performed in a number of groups and even produced my own improv show called The Temporal Talk Show.
