Join us for the inaugural 'Media Frontiers' event in The School of Media and Communication, bringing industry experts in conversation with the School’s research staff, students and beyond.

Media industry professionals from across creative sectors will join us for a frank conversation about some of the twists that the increasing availability of AI may (or may not) bring for the creative industries, allowing plenty of time for audience questions. We will discuss themes like craft and expertise, creative political economy, the role of labour organisation and trade unions, copyright, collaboration with AI and creating space for hopeful imagined futures. Followed by a drinks reception.

Hosted by Dr Sophie Bishop and Professor Anamik Saha.

Confirmed Participants:

  • Jennifer Estaris: game director, designer, and writer.
  • Hell Raymond-Hayling: production and AI researcher at BBC RnD
  • Janay Marie: award-winning executive, cultural producer, and strategic marketer at Tallawah Agency
  • Hannah Britt: Lifestyle Editor of Reach Plc (The Mirror and Express newspapers, plus regional titles such as the Manchester Evening News and Liverpool Echo)
