In Measured Landscapes exhibition, the natural is reimagined not as untouched terrain but as a field constantly renegotiated.

We proudly present Measured Landscapes, a solo exhibition by Eleni Maragaki, an artist whose practice transforms rigorous research into potent visual form. Through geometry, modular structures, and interactive sculptural installations, Maragaki articulates the evolving relationship between human-devised systems and the natural world. In her hands, landscape is not inert or picturesque, but a contested, living site: shaped by observation, memory, and the imprint of constructed order.

Using precise grids, rings, and spatial logic, Maragaki explores the tension between the organic and the artificial: the fluidity and unpredictability of natural forms standing against the strict perfection of geometry. These systems do more than organise space, they endure. They serve as records of human presence, persisting long after bodies move on, extending their influence across time.

Within this apparent permanence, Maragaki introduces fracture and disruption. Her “deconstruction through organised movement” reveals how urban expansion interrupts the openness of landscape, how cities carve, reshape, and reframe the natural world. Drawings become architectural studies; sculptures become spatial puzzles. The viewer, invited to touch, rearrange, and test limits, becomes an essential participant in this unfolding dialogue.

In Measured Landscapes exhibition, the natural is reimagined not as untouched terrain but as a field constantly renegotiated by memory, structure, and human intervention.

Eleni Maragaki will also be leading a workshop during the exhibition period — stay tuned for the official announcement.

Curator: Hanya Elghamry

About the Artist

Eleni Maragaki is a Greek visual artist based in London whose practice spans sculpture, installation, drawing and printmaking. She studied Painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts (2013–2018) and completed an MA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins (2020–2022), where she received the Mona Hatoum Bursary Award.

Maragaki’s work explores the evolving relationship between human-made systems and the natural world, using geometry as a structural and conceptual language. Through precise modular forms, constructed objects and interactive sculptural works, she investigates how order is imposed onto landscape, and how these systems persist, fracture, or shift over time. Her practice reflects a fascination with the tension between the organic and the artificial: the fluid, unpredictable qualities of nature set against the rigidity of spatial logic, grids and engineered structures.

Interactivity plays a central role in her work. Many of her pieces invite the viewer to touch, reconfigure or test physical limits, turning the experience of the artwork into a dynamic exchange between body, material and environment.

Maragaki has exhibited internationally across the UK, Europe and Asia, with presentations including the Shijiazhuang Youth Art Biennale in China and screenings with LUX Moving Image. Her practice continues to expand through research-led projects, residencies and public commissions.

About the Curator & Residency

Hanya Elghamry, currently in residency with Palace Art Collective at Hypha Studios, is a curator whose practice centres on site-responsive exhibition-making and the politics of cultural memory. Trained in Contemporary Art Curation, she approaches curating as a research-driven and collaborative process, creating frameworks that allow artists’ voices, audience participation, and spatial context to shape the meaning of a show.

Her curatorial work spans institutional, public, and independent settings. As a Senior Curator with Art D’Égypte, she directed large-scale contemporary art exhibitions in historically charged locations, developing curatorial narratives that bridge heritage and contemporary practice. In London, Elghamry continues to curate programmes that foreground soft power, identity, and the dynamics of place, working closely with emerging artists, local communities, and interdisciplinary collectives.

Currently in residency with the Palace Art Collective at Hypha Studios, she focuses on exhibitions that activate space, encourage interaction, and engage viewers in open-ended dialogue. Her curatorial approach is defined by sensitivity to context, an emphasis on cross-cultural exchange, and a commitment to cultivating environments where complexity and experimentation can thrive.

About Hypha Studios

Hypha Studios is a non-profit organisation that provides free project spaces and studio residencies to artists, pairing unused or transitional properties with creative practitioners who activate them through exhibitions, public programmes, and community engagement. Their model supports artists with space while offering landlords cultural value and footfall, creating a mutually beneficial exchange. Hypha Studios emphasises accessibility, public engagement, and the development of emerging practices, fostering an environment where experimentation and collaboration can thrive.
