Master authentic Chinese dishes: fold dumplings, simmer hot & sour soup, and stir-fry crispy potatoes. Tasting & demo included!

Class description:

Discover the joy of making Chinese dumplings from scratch in this hands-on, home-style cooking class, designed to build confidence and deepen your understanding of Chinese flavours and techniques.

We’ll begin with a refreshing Cucumber & Wood Ear Salad, followed by a Hot and Sour Soup demonstration — you’ll learn how to balance heat, tang, and umami, and enjoy a tasting together.

The heart of the class is dumpling-making. You’ll learn how to prepare vegetarian dumplings, exploring two cooking methods — pan-fried with a crispy skirt and boiled — while I demonstrate different dumpling-folding techniques, from classic pleats to simple everyday styles. Whether you’re new to dumplings or looking to refine your skills, you’ll leave with practical techniques you can recreate at home.

To complete the menu, we’ll cook Stir-Fried Shredded Potatoes with Vinegar, a light yet addictive northern Chinese dish that showcases texture, timing, and balance.

This class is relaxed, interactive, and full of tips you can use again and again. We’ll cook, taste, and enjoy the food together — and you’re welcome to bring containers to take home any leftovers to share with family and friends.

Perfect for dumpling lovers, curious home cooks, and anyone who love Chinese food.

When you buy a Greens&Others cookery class you enjoy an enriching culinary experience and help us fight hunger in our community.
