Help San Mateo County restore habitat at Memorial Park by removing invasive French Broom!

Dwarfed by majestic redwoods, visitors to Memorial Park are often humbled by the massive feeling of standing next to these old-growth giants. The park has many campgrounds and trails, allowing for an even more immersive experience to the park. If you'd like to experience the majesty of the redwoods yourself, or are otherwise interested in protecting their habitat, come join us Monday, January 19th as we remove invasive plant species in order to restore this beautiful park!

We ask that you wear closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothing you don't mind getting dirty. We recommend that each member of your group bring a personal water bottle. Sunscreen, snacks, hats, and layers are also great to have on hand in case the weather gets warm or cold! If weather conditions are deemed too extreme, this event will be canceled and we will reach out to participants by email.

Groups of four or more please contact sgsmith@smcgov.org You will be allowed to contribute withoput signing up through this site

Volunteers under the age of 18 must be registered by a parent or guardian. Youths under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

A reminder email with more detailed instructions on the day's activities and where to meet will also be sent in advance of the event. We look forward to seeing you in the parks!

Please direct questions about this event to Stu Smith at sgsmith@smcgov.org
