Make SOHO FLAMENCO Again! (social workshop, LIVE SHOW & juerga)
It’s Soho, it’s flamenco...and we’re bringing it back!
Soho in the 90s? Flamenco was the thing. We love to honour the past, so here’s the first event of the year and... who knows how the night will end?
To make it extra special, we’ve invited Laura Mateo, one of Andalusia’s best new flamenco voices, straight from Almería and already touring the world. She’ll sing for you alongside Lourdes Fernandez, amazing dancer, and Adrián Sola, guitar wizard. Hosted in the basement of Jamon Jamon Soho, a stone’s throw from Leicester Square: flamenco from the earth, in the heart of London.
Laura will teach compás, palmas, body percussion, jaleos, and chorus singing. Beginners? You’ll be dancing and singing in no time. Professionals? Improve your craft and communication with the singing . By the end, you’ll be ready to rock any juerga in Spain: no more missed claps or confused looks.... You’ll be a genius!
Classic tablao, as it’s done in Spain, simple and effective: singer, guitar, dancer. First part 19:30–20:00, pause to catch your breath, then 20:30–21:00 for the second. Keep your skills ready because you might just want to jump in during the fin de fiesta at the end!
A wild flamenco jam! Bring your instrument, dance, sing, or just enjoy. Improvised, unplanned, flowing with the night. Drink, eat, play, chat, dance and let Soho’s flamenco spirits take you where they will.
