Hear about the formidable women working in the Sheffield steel industry during the Second World War.

Join Michelle Rawlins, author of Women of Steel and the Steel Girls series, as she tells us about the long hours, dangerous conditions and sacrifices made by many women in Sheffield to do their bit for the war effort.

Hear the stories of some of the women who dedicated six years of their lives to this work, and the often-devastating consequences war had on their families and the city.

Michelle Rawlins is an international award-winning freelance journalist, author, copywriter, ghostwriter and university teacher, with 25 years’ experience working for national newspapers, magazines and online publications.
