Open Schools Fortnight offers schools across London the opportunity to learn from effective practice that is improving outcomes for young people across the national priorities of Attainment, Attendance, Inclusion and Best Start in Life. As part of this programme, Southfields Academy is hosting an inclusion-focused event for School Leaders and SENCos.
Inclusion sits at the heart of Southfields Academy’s ethos and is driven by strong leadership commitment. This event will explore how inclusion is embedded to secure positive outcomes for all students, with opportunities for attendees to meet key inclusion staff, tour the school, and take away transferable practices to strengthen inclusive provision in their own settings.
Southfields Academy is a diverse, non-selective school with 50% FSM, over 80 EHCPs and around 30 LAC students. Disadvantaged students and those with SEND perform significantly above national averages. The Academy has a base for SLCN, a Deaf Hearing Support Centre, and a Study Support Centre supporting students with EBSNA and those who find mainstream education challenging. It also offers inclusive Post-16 pathways from Level 1 to Level 3, both academic and vocational.
