Offering beginners, intermediate & advanced stitchers the opportunity to learn, develop and progress your own hand embroidery projects.

We are excited to announce that From Thursday March 19th 2026, The London Embroidery Club is re opening its doors to any stitch creatives in London and beyond at Fabrications in Hackney.

All beginners, intermediate and advanced stitchers will have the opportunity to learn, develop and progress with their very own projects with the guidance of artist/master embroiderer Bella Lane.

Bring your own materials to begin with (we also have supplies available to purchase if you are starting out. Feel free to get in touch to discuss your project in advance of booking)

Remember, this is the place where Londoners stop and stitch together anything that inspires each stitcher!

For this first Re-Launch evening Bella Lane will also be offering the "Stitch Challenge by London Embroidery Club". A time and space during the session to create and stitch a small piece for a person who you've never meet before. 60 minutes - 3600 seconds of collecting and sharing the ultimate stitch experience to take home!


When: Thursday 19th March, 6 - 9pm (with plans to offer regularly every two weeks on a Thursday evening.

Price: £25.00

Moving forwards for the intermediate, advanced and master levels, subject cost will vary as the level of expertise is more demanding. Tutor can advise.

Group Size: no more than 12 participants.

Please Note: There is no food or drink allowed in the studio, You are welcome to bring a sealed water bottle but please ensure all 'take outs' are consumed before arriving. There will be a scheduled refreshment break (tea & biscuits)

About Bella Lane:

Bella Lane is a master embroiderer and artist, specialising in hand embroidery from the pre-Columbian cultures of Latin America and from other global traditions. She trained at the Royal School of Needlework (RSN) in London, graduating in 2009 with distinction. She received awards from the RSN and private institutions in the City of London. With over two decades experience, Bella undertakes private commissions, the restoration and conservation of historical textiles, museum teaching, and the exhibition of her work, continuously refining her expertise in textile and embroidery arts.

She has led international workshops, including Andean and Paracas Embroidery programmes in New Zealand (2017), as well as programmes at the British Museum, the Victoria & Albert Museum, and numerous embroidery festivals. Bella also oversaw the creation of a collaborative Paracas mantle for the stage production Mouth of the Gods, directed by Michael Walling of Border Crossings. She integrates hand embroidery with the performing arts, including puppetry, participating in international puppetry festivals.

Recognised for her achievements in European metal-thread embroidery using gold, silver, copper, wire, silk, cotton, wool, linen and modern textile fibres she is now a member of two City of London Livery Companies, serving as the First Lady Freeman by trade of the Gold & Silver Wyre Drawers and a Liveryman of the Broderers. From January to March 2026, she is currently presenting her first solo exhibition of Paracas embroidery at the Julio C. Tello Site Museum in the Paracas National Reserve, Peru. “Paracas - Embroideries of the Desert” is her second embroidery book.
