Lines & Layups Project – Where Basketball Meets Drama

Join us for Lines & Layups, a dynamic youth project funded by ACTIVE ESSEX, from Drama In Mind CIC in partnership with BBall Fundamentalz. This unique programme, combines basketball training with drama workshops, creating a powerful space to play, perform, and explore real-life issues that matter to young people.

On the court, you’ll learn new basketball skills, build teamwork, and boost fitness. Off the court, drama techniques open up conversations around challenges like peer pressure, relationships, body image, emotional wellbeing, youth exploitation, and more.

The project builds confidence, resilience, and self-expression—helping young people strengthen life skills, improve public speaking, and work together to create a final performance for the community.

This is a 12-week program running from September 16th - December 19th, 2025 (EXCLUDING OCTOBER HALF-TERM: 20.10.25 to 31.10.25 )

• You can join at any point during the program BUT it's best to get involved from the start
• When registering, select the date you want to START attending, ideally 16th September
• Each date listed represents a different week of the program - the final play will be what the participants have developed over the 12 weeks, so get to rehearsals as soon as you can!
