The Bryn Mawr Club is pleased to offer a limited set of orchestra seats for the hit Broadway show, “Liberation” which has been extended. A New York Times Critic’s Pick and Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle award winner, this multifaceted drama takes us from 1970’s women’s circles to second wave feminism, leaving us with questions, heartfelt connections and wry laughter. Elisabeth Vincentelli of the New York writes,“If there is a show that can make the case for a Tony Award for best ensemble, it’s this one. White directs the actors like a conductor leading an orchestra: Each one gets to shine in at least one aria (or speech, in this case), but they also function as a multifaceted single organism onstage. When these women talk, we want to hear every word.”
Growing an audience in part by word of mouth, the show moved to Broadway this Fall, continuing its theater buzz into early next year. Audiences have been drawn the tight performances – and the cast remains from its original off Broadway run. Written by Tony Nominated Bess Wohl and directed by Tony Nominated Whitney White, the show offers a multi-generational and diverse cast of women (and one guy) who explore their vulnerabilities in wry fashion and offering lessons learned and opportunities lost.
“Tackling misogyny, internalized homophobia, domestic abuse, gender roles, and the need for intersectionality, Liberation leaves no stone unturned in its quest for answers about the past and the present,” says Austin Fimmano of New York Theater Guide.
We have a limited number of Orchestra Tickets for Bess Wohl’s “Liberation” on Broadway.
