As we celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of Leo Records’ Unsung Music Festival and the incredible output of recordings that the 87-year-old Leo Feigin has produced for the improv and free jazz community, it seems a fitting moment to highlight, recognise and honour Leo’s vibrant legacy in this field. We are proud to present a one-day festival of innovative, improvisational music(s) at King’s Place in London, assembling many of the finest practitioners from the UK, Europe and Russia that Leo Records has promoted so extensively. The live content of the festival will be expanded by two screenings of the poignant new documentary Leo Records: Strictly For Our Friends, which explores a lifetime of dissidence and dissonance, from Soviet Russia to rural Devon, and so many uncharted musical landscapes in between.Your generous contribution helps us get the ball rolling & if you donate 20 EUR/USD/UKP or more, we will be gifting you two Leo Records CD’s and in addition the benefits will go towards treating the musicians to the finest fee we can offer & naturally make everything run smoothly.
