Join us to explore what genuine community engagement looks like in a rewilding context – and why it matters.

Rewilding is about nature and people. This Learning Day explores how to engage communities in rewilding efforts – from early conversations and cooperation, to navigating tensions and building long-term relationships rooted in trust. Drawing from real-life examples and lived experience, the day will offer tools, stories and practical guidance for anyone looking to put community at the heart of their work.

A friendly, interactive day of learning and reflection, with space to share experiences and challenges. Through a mix of presentations, small group work, discussion and case studies, we’ll explore what genuine community engagement looks like in a rewilding context – and why it matters.

The Learning Day will cover:

  • Principles of meaningful community engagement in rewilding
  • Tools and techniques for building trust and participation
  • Navigating challenges and conflict with care
  • Real-world examples from across the Northwoods Rewilding Network
  • A chance to connect with like-minded people working in similar roles

This Learning Day is for you if:

  • You’re involved in rewilding or nature recovery projects
  • You want to strengthen the way your work connects with communities of place and interest
  • You’ve experienced challenges with community engagement and want to reflect or re-set
  • You’re curious about how rewilding can benefit people as well as nature
