Come and join local Living History enthusiast Heather as she brings to life crafts from the Northwest's Heritage. Demonstrating the slowly vanishing skills that went into producing our clothing using natural materials.
This month's session focuses on Pigments
Status: Endangered
Always wanted to know how to make your own pigments? Me too!
Today Heather takes a break and enjoys a visit from a lovely local guest artist Suzanne Pinder, who will introduce you to ancient pigments made from natural materials.
Suzanne will show you more and how to make pigments for your toolbox and crafting projects.
We’ll look at
Pigments are made using recycled items from the natural world, nothing goes to waste.
Don’t worry if you didn’t attend the natural dye class, we’ll be starting, this session will be suitable for absolute beginners as well as those with more experience.
Please wear something appropriate for this colourful class as you will be getting ‘hands on’ with your pigments
Inspired by Heritage Crafts Red List, we’re focusing on endangered crafts. To see the full list of crafts please visit our website
