Join us in person for a fun and easy-going crochet workshop in N.W Washington D.C.! Whether you're a total beginner or just want to brush up on your skills, Morgani's got you covered. Bring your creativity and get ready to make some cozy, handmade items while meeting fellow craft lovers. Don’t miss out on this chill, hands-on learning experience!
No experience required—just bring your creativity.
By the end of this workshop at O Street Studios, you won't just have a swatch of fabric; you’ll have a new skill set. Here is what you can expect to take home:
We’ll start with the "why" behind the "how." You’ll learn how a single strand of yarn is transformed into a 3D structure while exploring the logic of stitches, rows and rounds.
From ergonomic hooks and tapestry needles to stitch markers and measuring tapes, we’ll walk you through the must-have tools. You’ll leave knowing exactly what you need to build a functional and portable crochet kit at home.
The "engine" of crochet is your hands. We’ll show you different ways to hold your hook (knife vs. pencil grip) and how to tension your yarn through your fingers to ensure your stitches are consistent—neither too tight nor too loose.
Every great project starts with a solid base. We’ll teach you how to create a secure slip knot and work a foundational chain. You'll also learn the "turning chain" secret—the key to keeping your edges straight and professional.
You’ll practice the "Big Three" of crochet: Single, Half-Double, and Double Crochet Sitches as well as an honorable mention: Slip Sitch. We’ll cover how to identify the "V" of a stitch, where to insert your hook, and how to "yarn over" like a pro.
Not all yarn is created equal! You’ll learn how to read yarn labels, understand different weights (from lace to bulky), and how fiber content—like cotton versus acrylic—affects the drape and texture of your finished piece.
The Crochet Workshop at O Street Studios Step into the studio and pick up the hook. Led by Morgani, this introductory class transforms beginners into makers. We’ll dive into the mechanics of loop-and-stitch design, explore yarn textures, and practice core stitches in a relaxed, collaborative environment. No experience required—just bring your creativity.
