Bringing faith, health and civic leaders together for the common good

This one-day summit is a call to leaders, practitioners, and passionate citizens across Lancashire who believe in the power of partnership for the common good. It is especially valuable for church leaders and ministry teams, civic and community leaders, faith-based organisations and charities, and anyone committed to social impact and neighbourhood transformation.

Together, we will explore and celebrate the vital contribution churches and faith groups are already making to neighbourhood wellbeing. The day will highlight the breadth of existing provision and the growing opportunities for collaboration across sectors.

Our keynote speaker is Dr Andy Knox, Medical Director for Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS, a leading voice on Population Health and tackling Health Inequities. Dr Knox is a GP Partner at Ash Trees Surgery and brings over a decade of experience serving on NHS executive teams.

Alongside Andy’s keynote, we will hear from local practitioners across the faith, civic and health sectors. Interactive workshops will offer practical insights and tools for transforming our communities.

The summit will:

  • Showcase how churches and faith groups in Lancashire are supporting neighbourhood health and wellbeing — particularly through the power of hospitality
  • Examine how social prescribing could open new pathways for partnership between churches and health services
  • Equip church leaders to understand their crucial role in building these connections
  • Introduce faith action mapping as a way to identify strengths, gaps and opportunities for collaboration across our places
