Join Lameck Macaba, Marcinho Pereira, and Matheus Nova for a night of original tunes, as they perform together for the first time in a new acoustic project. Celebrating Afro-Brazilian music from their hometown of São Paulo, Bahia, the trio will perform original works by Lameck Macaba, whose music focuses on a dialogue between contemporary Angolan Bantu styles and Afro-Brazilian ancestry. Influenced by names of the Brasilian and Angolan music scene like Gilberto Gil, João Bosco, Filipe Mukenga, Bonga e Roberto Mendes.

A singer, guitarist, and composer for over 20 years, Lameck has taken part in numerous musical projects exploring the transatlantic links between Brazil and Angola — the latter having played a pivotal role in the formation of Brazilian culture.

Opening the evening, enjoy the quirky, sardonic, and refreshing short stories of TALES OF GIN & TONIC — a timely collection of political satire and socially ironic dark comedy tales about oppression versus freedom. Performed using a mix of physical theatre, storytelling, and live music.

Adapted and created for the stage by Helena Hipólito, from the works of Portuguese author Mário Henrique-Leiria (1923–1980). The tales were written while the author was exiled in Brazil (1962–1974), during the dictatorship of Salazar in Portugal (1929–1974).
