Wellbeing Wander - Take a gentle walk around the north part of Ladybower Reservoir and stand at the feet of the mighty Derwent Dam Wall.

Need a moment to recover from the festive season and reflect on your year ahead?

Ready to set some intentions?

Why not join me for a gentle wellbeing wander to start your 2026 as you mean to go on - connecting with what matters to you, nature and others who are looking to share the journey

What is involved in a 'Wellbeing Wander'?

  • A quality walk experience led by a Qualified Outdoor Leader and Life Coach
  • Nature Connection moments
  • I'll make use of conversation cards to prompt thinking and discussions as we walk or sit for a break.
  • Time to reflect, journal and capture your key takeaways.
  • Optional: Add a Peak and Bloom 'Peak Connections' journal to your ticket and you will recieve a brand new lined journal on the day to keep with you and capture what you need and look back on it after the day. (optional extra as you may have one already or wish to bring your own currnet journal) See the image for more details.

We'll be starting at the Fairholmes Car Park, we will take a gentle wander round this section of the Ladybower Reservoir, before crossing the bridge and returning along the other side; finishing with a stop at the mighty Derwent Damn wall.

The paths are mostly well defined, or flat, and there will be plenty of chance for relaxed chat as we walk around - I'll also be ready to share my knowledge and history with you as we go!

Distance: approx 9.5km

Elevation: approx 180m total over the course of route (all gentle undulation)

Grade: Light Hiking. Mostly easy footpaths and trails with some gentle up/down hill sections.

Time: 10am start for up to 4 hours. Note we will meet by 9.50am to leave at 10am.

Who is the event for: Everybody Welcome (Aged 18+).

Who will be your guide?

I’m Sara and I’m a Hill and Moorland Leader and Life Coach based in West Sheffield on the edge of the Peak District. I’m excited to share my love of adventure, nature and the Peak District with you!

Where we'll meet:

We'll be meeting at Fairholmes Car ParkBamford, Hope Valley S33 0AQs. There are bus services nearby if required (see Peak District Bus Timetable.)

What to bring:

  • Hiking boots or shoes with good grip
  • Snacks or lunch to keep you happy and sustained for around 4 hours
  • Rucksack
  • Water (at least 1L)
  • Waterproofs
  • Warm layers, hat and gloves
  • A personal first aid kit with any medications or things you'd usually have on you
  • Optional extras: Walking poles, sit mat, hot drink, your own journal and pens if you're not purchasing with your ticket etc

What will the terrain be like?

Mostly trails and footpaths.

Note about Toilets:

There are toilets at the car park. There won't be anymore along the way after that on the walk so we may have to embrace ‘wild wees’ whilst we’re out. There are plenty of little hidden spots if required.

Safety and your participation:

The core hope for my walks is that they are enjoyable and memorable experiences for everyone so we will keep to a slow and steady pace. It's about taking in the views, learning about the area and being outdoors in nature. You are also responsible for your own health and safety and there can be risks with all outdoor activities. You'll be asked to complete a medical form a couple of days before the walk to let me know of any medical conditions prior to the day. Every participant is required to complete this a minimum of 24 hours before the event begins.

Whilst I plan and recce my walks, they are still be subject to route adjustments where weather or other route condtions change in the days leading up to or on the day of your event. Any alterations are to ensure your safety and ensure you still get an enjoyable time out.

I am a qualified Hill and Moorland Leader and Outdoor First Aid trained so will be on hand in case of an emergency.

Refund Policy:

Refunds will only be given if the event is cancelled.

Weather:

This walk will be going ahead whatever the weather, unless I decide that the conditions will be dangerous. If I do have to cancel the walk for safety reasons, I will suggest one more date for the walk to be rearranged or offer a refund.
